Dhoni beats Shah Rukh, Sachin
Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has topped the chart for celebrity endorsements on television during the first six months of this year, leaving behind not only Shah Rukh Khan and Sachin Tendulkar, but also the gorgeous ladies of the silver screen.
During the January to June period, while Dhoni endorsed brands for 24 companies on TV, Shah Rukh and Sachin were seen promoting the products of 16 and 15 firms, respectively, according to the Adex survey of TAM Media Research.
Interestingly, Dhoni also left behind many Bollywood actresses, who enjoyed a combined 45 per cent share of the total celebrity endorsements on TV between January and June.

Portugal held to a frantic 4-4 draw by Cyprus
A last-gasp goal from winger Andreas Avraam denied Portugal victory in a thrilling topsy-turvy 4-4 draw against Cyprus in a Euro 2012 qualifier on Friday.
With Cristiano Ronaldo out with an ankle injury and suspended coach Carlos Queiroz watching from the stands, the Cypriots added to Portugal's woes by stunning them with an early goal.
Winger Efstathios Aloneftis combined well with Michalis Konstantinou to find space at the edge of the box and produce a fine lob over Eduardo in the third minute.

Woods expects Ryder Cup jeers
Tiger Woods wants to play a Ryder Cup in Europe again - even though he is promised a partisan reception.
The world number one was expected to be named as one of Corey Pavin's four wild cards later on Tuesday after finishing 12th and 11th in his last two events, a marked improvement on what came before.
America defend the trophy at Celtic Manor on October 1-3 and for Woods it would be a sixth cap. He made his debut at Valderrama in 1997 and also played at The Belfry in 2002 and the K Club four years ago.
"Well, on the road it's very different," he said after his closing 68 at the Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston on Monday.
"You get booed a lot, you get jeered and people say things they probably shouldn't say.
"Unfortunately I've seen it on both sides. They did it with Monty (European captain Colin Montgomerie), so it goes both ways and I've had that experience and understand how to deal with it and make it a positive thing.
"I missed the last one because I was hurt and it would be nice to be on the team.
"I enjoy playing in the Ryder Cup and going out there against those guys with my teammates and see if we can get it done."

Maradona rejects return for Argentina against Spain
Esteban Cambiasso, Javier Zanetti and Gabriel Milito will make their Argentina comebacks against world champions Spain in a friendly at the River Plate stadium Tuesday (9 p.m. British time).
The trio were overlooked by Diego Maradona for the recent World Cup finals in South Africa, where Argentina crashed out in a 4-0 quarter-final defeat by Germany.
"Gabriel has shown me can bring the ball out well from defence, he has good left foot with good touch," Sergio Batista, Maradona's successor, said of Barcelona centre back Milito.

New coach, same story for France but Spain shine
France received chilling notice that the road to post-World Cup redemption will be long and hard when they lost 1-0 to Belarus in Paris on Friday, while Portugal threw away two points in a frantic 4-4 draw at home to Cyprus.
England and Italy were able to start repairing their reputations with contrasting wins in their first Euro 2012 qualifiers and Spain swatted away Liechtenstein 4-0 with an ease befitting their status as world and European champions.
England played with the quick passing and invention that eluded them in South Africa as they beat Bulgaria 4-0 at Wembley, Jermain Defoe netting a smartly taken hat-trick and Adam Johnson getting the fourth in the Group G clash.
