David Villa says Messi tackle was brutal!

David Villa branded Tomas Ujfalusi's challenge on Barcelona team-mate Lionel Messi as "brutal".

He said: "There is a committee that decides, and when they see the pictures he [Ujfalusi] is sure to receive the punishment he deserves, because the challenge is brutal and he should not be proud of what he has done.

"The punishment must set a precedent that will make a player think twice before doing something similar."

The Spanish hotshot went on to lay siege on Barca's title rivals Real Madrid when he put down Jose Mourinho's plea to match officials to give his star winger Cristiano Ronaldo added protection.

"I do not value the statements of Mourinho, as the referees do not notice who the player is, they will protect whoever it is, and so I do not appreciate what he says." said Villa.

With barely a month of the new season gone, things have already begun heating up in the Spanish La Liga.
